Gunung Ledang/ Mount Ophir is a popular hiking destination for amateurs or first time hikers.
Situated in Malaysia. Gunung Ledang is only 1,276 m but it is the highest mountain in Johor. It is an achievable day hike of around 4 hours up and 3 hours down, peppered with the thrill of some ladders and rope sections but nothing too dangerous.
It is a 1 day itinerary but it can be extended to combine with a trip to Malacca or Johor Bahru.
Highlights
MOunt Ophir ITINERARY
11:30pm-12:00am (Saturday): Pick up from Marsiling MRT station. Drive towards Tangkak.
4:00am-5:00am: Breakfast at Tangkak
7:00am: Arrive at Mount Ophir National Park. Registration. You will need to declare any items brought up to the mountain. Deposit any excess items in the vehicle.
7:30am: Meet the guide and safety briefing.
8:00am: Start the trek.
12:30pm: Reach the summit.
1:30pm: Descend from Summit
5:00pm: Arrive back at the mountain base/registration. Wash up, get back deposit and summit cert. Congratulations!
5:30pm: Wash up and prepare to head back to Singapore
6:30pm: Dinner at Tangkak or at Johor Bahru(8pm)
11:30pm: Arrive back at Marsiling/Woodlands MRT
